The
Passing of the Houngan Oswan Chimani into the Land of The Invisibles

"Behind living and dreaming lies the most important thing, waking up."
- Priest Oswan Chamani, October 2, 1987

Greetings everyone from Priestess Miriam and my beloved husband Priest Oswan. Priest Oswan took his flight into the arms of the ancestors on March 6,1995, where he is now resting at the feet of the Master, so that he will be nourished for his next incarnation. We will someday meet again! The past six years that Priest Oswan and I spent together seem like a hundred years, because we accomplished so much together. We made it our goal to help people. By us establishing and making the Voodoo Spiritual Temple a reality, we could continue to help people everywhere. Even though Oswan has slipped away, his light and guidance will always shine around us.

My husband and I fulfilled many of our dreams together and now I must fulfill the part where Priest Oswan said to me in March, 1989, "I will die a long time before you, but when I die The Temple will be completely formed and you will do what is necessary to carry the Temple."

And so it is, I Priestess Miriam do have the necessary material that will uphold the Temple throughout these and future times.

THE MORT

The Mort are the Dead; both named and forgotten. Among their ranks are numbered deceased ancestors. The dead wait in the abysmal waters which ebb and flow beneath the earth. In these waters they wait and watch and, if bidden, reach out with sure fingers to guide and regulate the affairs of the still living practitioner. They can come again in the bodies of the new born. The Great Mothers and the Grand Fathers swim in the salty waters of the birth canal, seeking once again the light of the Sun and Moon. In their coming, the covenant which contains all covenants is fulfilled. New issues from old in an unbroken spiral of universal flux. The last words of the dying echo in the infants first cry. The play of the Divine Twins finds holy completion.
